What are the advantages of a rowing sKIFF?
Are you looking for the stability of a sliding seat rowboat?
Do the sweeping graceful lines of this sliding seat row boat appeal to you?
If so, a Heritage or Legacy skiff from Little River Marine is the boat for you!
Stability: Because of their wider hulls, sliding seat row boats are more stable than rowing shells. With a Heritage you can stand up. With a shell, there is well kept secret: let go of the oars, tip right over (shells, not skiffs).
Speed: A Heritage is only one mph slower than a shell at cruising speed. Average speed Heritage 5 mph, shell 6mph. So you give up little, but gain a lot.
Bring a Friend: Each Heritage model has enough room to carry passenger(s), and the Heritage 15 and 18 have the ability to accommodate a second rower.
Accessorize: A motor mount can be added on your sliding seat rowboat.
Easy to set up: easy to mount rigger arms make setting up Little River’s rowing skiff’s quick.

Heritage 12
As an exercise rower, she is much better than traditional dinghies, due to her advanced hull shape, light weight, and stiffness. Women often choose the Heritage 12 as a boat that just “fits” better. When used for sliding seat, men seem to prefer the famous glide of the Heritage 15 or 18. But, when there are space limitations, the 12 is perfect. All 3 are stable, allowing the rower to stand. The 12 Yacht Tender is a better “family” sailing version as it carries a smaller, single sail. The 15 and 18 are more high performance with 2 sails.

Thanks to our patented folding rigger, set up and launching is a breeze. Slide your Heritage off the dock, push off, swing out the rigger and go… it’s that simple. Little River is the only builder to offer the folding rigger system. The rigger folds in to act as a handle as you sit down. Another plus: it has a built in safety feature where the rigger will collapse should you accidentally hit something, with no damage to the oars or boat. In the Heritage, the seat is much higher than that of a shell so it is much more comfortable to sit in than shells. If you like, you can row out to your favorite quiet spot and just take in the beauty.

s a Legacy Sailboat, she has higher sides than a Heritage, and a wide, rolled topside gunnel for comfortable sitting when hiking out. The sail is a wonderfully simple Boom-less Marconi rig. She utilizes a light, pick up dagger board in a centered trunk, and a European- designed kick up rudder. You can row out and sail back, and set up at sea. The mast is 2-part, stay-less, and can be stored on board even while rowing. The sail is Raid and Everglades Challenge approved, with quick up and down setting and reefing points.

Do you want the speed and grace of a rowing shell?
Can you imagine sliding across the water in a sliver of motion, rowing effortlessly as you surge forward?
Do you dream of the oars chanting their cadance?
If so, one of Little River Marine’s rowing shells is the boat for you!
Light weight: our rowing shells start at only 39 pounds, making them easy for one person to carry.
Speed: because of their narrower hulls, a rowing shell is faster in the water than a skiff.
Low-Impact: rowing doesn’t involve any jarring motion like jogging, tennis, or other sports.
Easy to set up: easy to mount rigging systems make setting up Little River’s rowing shells a breeze.
